Our day camp runs from 10:00-4:00 Monday through Friday. Two snacks and lunch is included in the price. Your child's day is filled with all kinds of activities revolving around the sea. Each day we pick a different topic in marine biology - from animal behaviour to sharks, sea turtles to sea animal identification. Each morning your child will come to Sea Camp at Oualie Beach. Our morning activites include a brief orientation of the day's topics and activities, morning snack and the Camp Song. SeaCamp Song The children are divided into groups. Some will snorkel or take swimming lessons while others will spend time in the aquarium with the animals or some other marine science activity like collecting animals or learning how to use the microscope or seine net. Some will work on a nautical skill like boat handling or raft building. Most of our teaching activities also incorporate learning games. Afternoons include lunch by Chef Jason, Oualie Beach Resort's terrific chef, and an afternoon snack. After lunch we usually have a quieter activity such as a board game or coloring or arts and crafts project. Then after the afternoon snack, it's back in the water or off to the beach or aquarium for more fun in the sun. Our day ends with another rousing version of the SeaCamp song. Then the childen will collect their belongings and whatever terrific project they have done during the day and will wait to be picked up. We must have a parent or guardian check in with us before taking a child. Your child will be active all day, never knowing how much they are learning about the sea. It's only when they come home each afternoon and tell you everything they have done, that you will realize how much they have learned. Your child's safety is our main concern. Our director served as an emergency medical technician for several years before moving to the Caribbean. Most of our staff has had a minimum of First Aid and we always have a medical kit available. We have never had more than a cut or bruise though, so don't worry. We are extremely careful and do everything we can to assure that your child has a terrific time in the safest way possible. Please go to our photo gallery and click on SeaCamp to see some of the kids in action. If you have any questions or concerns, please click on the contact button above and drop us an email. We will be happy to help you in any way we can. To sign up online all you have to do is click one of the links below. Look for the dates you are interested in.
